Free Family History Research Help Session

If you need help getting started or have come to a "road block" in your path to finding your ancestors, members of the Cuyahoga West Chapter of the Ohio Genealogical Society will volunteer their time and talent to assist you, at the computer terminals. Please bring a copy of your pedigree chart and/or relevant family records.

Foster Care/Adoption Community Information Sessions
6:30 PM - 8:00 PM
Interested in learning more about becoming a foster or adoptive parent? Check out one of our Community Information Sessions! There will be a session held 11/5 in the Craft Room at Westlake Porter Library, from 6:30pm until 8:00pm. Staff from the Lakewood Collaborative Family to Family program will be on-site to answer questions, provide support and guidance, and offer materials related to becoming a foster or adoptive parent.

The Lakewood Collaborative Family to Family program is part of the City of Lakewood's Department of Human Services Division of Youth office. We work in partnership with Cuyahoga County Division of Children and Family Services to recruit foster and adoptive families for children in need of stable, safe, and loving homes.

LWV Bay Chapter meeting

Geoff Westerfield, Assistant Wildlife Management Supervisor for the Ohio Division of Wildlife and an expert on damage caused by deer, will speak about the types of problems deer present for urban communities, factors to consider when managing deer, and techniques available to residents within the City's current parameters. Open to the public.

Consequences of Heroin & Other Drug Abuse

College Club West will continue its monthly gathering with a program titled "The Consequences of Heroin and Other Drug Abuse,” presented by Judge Patrick Carroll of the Lakewood Municipal Court.

This club meets monthly and presents topics of interest to women. In addition there are 37 smaller and varied special interest groups that meet separately. Information regarding these smaller groups will be available at this meeting.

Membership is open to women who have a bachelor's degree from an accredited degree granting college. New members are welcome.
