Nature Ceramics 2-Day workshop at BAYarts
6:00 PM - 8:00 PM
August 21 & 22 WEEKEND WORKSHOP
Friday from 6-8 p.m.
Saturday from 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
This workshop will explore the design and texture of nature and how to use the property of clay as an effective surface for exploring different ideas. Students will focus on basic hand-building techniques and learn about pattern and mark-making. From investigating various designs of nature and abstract those line and volume, students will be encouraged to create their own unique design. Begin with a meet and greet on Friday night where Yumiko will introduce herself, present a power point presentation of her work, offer a demo to students and then allow students to get their hands in the clay. On Saturday, Yumiko will demo again and talk about design in nature. Students will then work on their own pieces for the remainder of the day. Price is $110 for the two days.
