Cyanotype Photo Class at BAYarts
10:30 AM - 3:00 PM
Cyanotype is one of the first photographic printing processes that uses sunlight to produce a cyan-blue print. Engineers used the process well into the 20th century as a simple and low-cost process to produce copies of drawings, referred to as blueprints. It is also called a sun print. In this workshop, students will explore this alternative process using both manual and high-tech applications.

Please bring objects from home. Some of the first cyanotypes made were of plants. Learn how to make negatives from your own digital photographs and print them in the sun. Please bring your favorite shots on a jump drive so they can be printed. Also, glass negatives are welcomed. Make prints from 5"x7" to 24"x30" in size. This is a camera-less process and no experience is necessary. Some class materials provided.

Fee: $115. $25 materials fee due directly to the instructor at the workshop.
Location:
BAYarts, 28795 Lake Rd.
