Community time capsule needs Bay citizens who want to go down in history
A hundred years from now, the residents of Bay Village will be anxiously anticipating the discovery of the contents of a time capsule under construction right now! Your grandchildren or great-grandchildren will be looking to discover if you (like the Cahoons, Porters and Osborns before you) have been immortalized as one of Bay Village’s citizens of significance – honored for your contribution to our town when it was only two hundred years old.
To ensure that our Tricentennial celebration is a sensational success a century from now, the Village Foundation is raising awareness and funds for our own, sure-to-be-spectacular, Bay Village Bicentennial Celebrations right now. You’ll need to hurry though, because the festivities take place on the weekend of October 10, 2010 (10/10/10).
WHO WILL BE THERE?
Bay Village’s schools, businesses, clubs and organizations, families, neighbors and friends will all be there for this celebration of great things yet to come! There’ll be a parade and fireworks, of course, along with a 200th birthday party with the citizens of Bay as the guests of honor. It’s the opportunity of a lifetime for every Bay resident to recognize our rich and vibrant heritage and to make a little history ourselves when we celebrate!
MUCH MORE THAN JUST A WEEKEND EVENT
The Bay Village Bicentennial Committee is sponsoring monthly events throughout the city including trolley tours of historical Bay Village, history programs, period war re-enactments, an old fashioned baseball game, an Ecumenical Service of thanks sponsored by our churches There will be a community picnic, parade, professional entertainment and bands, as well as publications and educational programs to promote our past and strengthen our future. Your contribution will be used to help pay for these exciting events.
HOW WILL YOU BE REMEMBERED?
The best way for you to immortalize your name in Bay Village history along with those that came before you, is simply by helping to make our Bicentennial Celebration a HUGE success. And when you contribute, you’ll also enjoy a great sense of civic pride, a tax write-off, and the deep, warm feeling that comes when you’ve done your part to make Bay the vibrant and close-knit community that we call home. If you act right now you’ll see your name written in the annals of history – or at least placed into the Bay Village Community Bicentennial Time capsule.

Make your check payable to: The Village Foundation 10-10-10 Fund and mail your contribution to: The Village Foundation 10-10-10 Fund, Box 44122, Bay Village, OH 44140.
Or donate online at www.thevillagefdn.org at one of the following tax-deductible levels: $100 "Cahoon" level; $250 "Osborn" level; $500 "Huntington" level; or $2,010 “10/10/10” level.
If you have already made a contribution, you may still increase the amount already sent to meet the $100 contribution level for having your name or that of your family, or, other loved one memorialized in the time capsule.
Your tax-deductible contribution will help the Bicentennial Committee fund the festivities and history-making celebration that will only be as successful as we, the citizens of Bay Village, are willing to make it. Please do your part and then join in the celebration!
