LWV celebrates equality, anniversary

The League of Women Voters held a special celebration August 26 to commemorate Women’s Equality Day, as well as the 90th Anniversary of both the League and the ratification of the Nineteenth Amendment. Members from area chapters joined together aboard the Goodtime III for an evening of fun, food and fellowship. The non-partisan League evolved out of the Women’s Suffrage movement which culminated in the 19th Amendment.
