Summer fun begins at the Bay Village Branch Library

The Bay Village Branch Library is getting ready for a fun, exciting summer of programs for the whole family. Here's what's coming up for all ages and interests in the end of May and the first weeks of June. Mark your calenders now and plan to attend!

ADULT DEPARTMENT

Wednesday, May 19 (7 p.m.) 40-70 Rule: Bridging the Communication Gap as a Loved One Ages – Home Instead Senior Care Representative Eric Kennerk will discuss how to approach sensitive life topics with an aging parent or loved one.  The 40-70 rule program identifies the struggles faced by many families and provides helpful insights  on how to successfully approach these challenges.

Tuesday, May 25 (7 p.m.) Learn to Crochet Part 2 – Beth Ross will show participants how to make a double crochet stitch and then demonstrate how to make a granny square. As time permits, attendees will also be shown how to change yarn colors and how to join granny squares. Please bring yarn and a crochet hook. For ages 18 and over.

Wednesday, June 9 (7 p.m.) Author Visit with Neil Zurcher – Join us as Bay Village author Neil Zurcher shares his latest book of adventures, "Ohio Road Trips, 2nd Edition." A book signing will follow this program sponsored by the Friends of the Bay Village Library.

TEEN DEPARTMENT

Tuesday, June 8 (3:30 p.m.) Decorate a Head Scarf – Decorate a scarf with fabric paint and learn how to use vegetable stamps to make designs. Don't forget the Pirate Trivia! For ages 11-18.

CHILDREN'S DEPARTMENT

Saturday, June 5 (1-5 p.m.) Summer Reading Game Kick Off Party – Come for games, prizes, food, and some very special visitors! Register for the Game and get a cool registration prize!

Wednesday, June 9 (1 p.m.) MUSIC FOR KIDS AND PARENTS – Chip Richtor is more fun than kids (or parents!) should be allowed to have! It is high energy musical fun and excitement that naturally comes from a live performance. Ages preschool-grade 5.

Wednesday, June 9 (10 a.m.) GET SILLY WITH CAPT'N WILLIE – Capt'n Willie provides a captivating knowledge of adventure while guiding his crew through the Great Lakes region and pointing out a variety of treasures. For grades K-5.
