Senior Evolution

I am becoming older
Strangely defiant
Of youthful ideals.
What worked for me
At twenty, thirty, etc.
No longer pleases me.

I am becoming
Someone I do not know,
Someone whose skin
I am not yet comfortable in,
I am becoming who I am not.
I am becoming who I was meant to be.
