July 25 musical turns local personalities into 'stars'
On Sunday afternoon, July 25, 76 trombones will sound off at Huntington Playhouse and introduce the audience to surprise appearances of Bay’s newest “stars” in everyone’s favorite musical presentation of "The Music Man." The stars will join the professional and very entertaining cast of "The Music Man" in a fundraising event for Bay’s upcoming Bicentennial weekend on October 9 and 10.
Bay’s Bicentennial Committee has received a most generous gift from local and well-known businessman, Jim Potter. Jim has bought out the house at Huntington Playhouse and donated all of the tickets to the Bicentennial committee which is working to ensure a memorable 200th Birthday Weekend for all residents.
The fun-filled summer afternoon will begin with all the great entertainment and songs of "The Music Man," followed by a meet and greet of the show’s professional cast members and the introduction of our special cameo “stars.” Of course, your cameras are welcome at the after-show event! Summer drinks and light refreshments will be served.
The cameo roles of folks well known to Bay residents will add excitement to the day. A local builder, media personalities, a senior citizen advocate, a church leader, a well-known business person, along with others, are giving their time with rehearsals and costume fittings just to make the afternoon sparkle and to help make our Bicentennial event even more special.
Tickets are $20.00 each and include the after-theatre meet and greet. They will be available at the Bicentennial Booth at Bay Days or by calling 440-871-4749.
Buy your tickets now for this very special event and meet Bay’s newest stars: Tim, Eileen, Debbie, Doug, Jim and John, just to name a few! Join us and those 76 trombones, have a grand time, and help bring down the house with laughter and fun for all involved. You and your guests will make the afternoon a great success!
Dave Tadych is Chairman of the Bay Bicentennial Committee.
