Recent recipients of the STARS award for oustanding employment service were Devon Oaks employees (l-to-r): Resident Assistants Carmen Calderon and Molly Vargo; Dietary Server Charlene Hayes; and Activities Assistant Joyce Atkinson.

Employees of Eliza Jennings Senior Care Network recently were honored for outstanding employment service during the 2011 STARS Employee Recognition Luncheon.

Recipients of the award from Devon Oaks, Eliza Jennings’ assisted living community in Westlake, were Activities Assistant Joyce Atkinson, Dietary Server Charlene Hayes, and Resident Assistants Molly Vargo and Carmen Calderon.

The STARS program is hosted by LeadingAge Ohio (formerly AOPHA), the advocate of not-for-profit services for older Ohioans, and the LeadingAge Ohio Resident Forum, comprised of association member residents and clients.

“We are proud of the services we provide to older adults and this pride is never more evident than in watching the dedication of our staff on a daily basis,” said Kara Serger, Director of Human Resources. “It is an honor to recognize these individuals, who truly represent the not-for-profit difference we provide older Ohioans.”

The Northeast Region STARS event recognized front-line employees of not-for-profit providers of services for older Ohioans nominated by their employer, residents or resident families for exemplary service. The program is held in eight regions throughout Ohio and this year will recognize over 400 outstanding employees statewide in the not-for-profit senior services profession.
