Parent drug awareness program returns to BMS

The alcohol and other drug awareness education program for parents, NOT MY CHILD!, returns to Bay Middle School on Thursday, Oct. 6, at 7 p.m.  The program, developed by local parents who know because they lived it, aims to teach parents how to recognize the signs of adolescent drug use.

No one believes it could happen to their child! Unfortunately, over half of our young, innocent children are experimenting with alcohol and other drugs, as early as middle school. Many parents will not recognize it at this level, which is why it’s important to attend this meeting! Some of the questions discussed will be:

  • What do you really know about adolescent drug use?
  • Do you know the signs to look for or what to do if you suspect that your child is using?
  • Do you know how to respond or where to turn for help?

To find out more, please attend this informative and interactive alcohol and other drug abuse program – presented by parents who have learned from experiences with their own children's drug use! Join them along with an expert panel.

Please attend! All are welcome.
