Hoop Times Are Special Times At the Westlake Rec.

7th & 8th Grade Basketball League

The Westlake Recreation Center competes in the West Suburban Youth Basketball League. Teams are made up of 7th & 8th grade students who are not participating on school teams. Practice will be held at least once a week. Deadline to register is Dec. 12. Games begin on Jan. 7. If more than 40 boys OR girls sign up, we will stay with an in-house league.

High School Basketball League

Open to any resident or member of the Recreation Center. Players who play on a school team may not play in this league. There are NO practices. Deadline to register is Dec. 12. Games begin on Jan. 7.

5th Grade After Hours Bash

On Friday Nov. 18, fifth-graders will have their night from 8:30-10:30 p.m. This program is open to all fifth-graders who go to school in or live in Westlake OR are members of the Westlake Recreation Center. Kids will be able to use the gym, swim while listing to DJ Eazy, play games and enjoy some pizza. Deadline to register is Nov. 18, 8:30 p.m. Cost is $10 for members and $15 for non-members.

Karate (ages 6 & older)

Students study an art representing several martial art systems including Kajukenpo, Chinese Kenpo, Judo & Japanese Karate. We encourage children and adults to take this class together. Classes are held on Friday nights from 5:30-7 p.m. at the Recreation Center. Cost: $27 for members, $35 for residents, $43 for non-residents.

Various Swimming Lessons are also being offered for kids of all ages. We also offer various exercise classes including: Zumba, Pilates, Yoga, Spinning and Boot Camp.
