Westlake businesswoman earns coveted Mary Kay pink Cadillac

Maggie Rader, a Westlake resident, has received the most prestigious honor one can from Mary Kay, the famous pink Cadillac! This honor is considered one of the company’s most prestigious awards for the industry’s top business associates. A feat in itself, Rader’s sales unit as a whole has received eight of the coveted pink Cadillacs to date.

Formerly a corporate tax accountant, Rader describes her transition from corporate America to an independent entrepreneur. “Working as a corporate accountant sounds real glamorous, but it was a real low-stroke, no-recognition job; and although I was paid very well, it just wasn’t worth the hassle. I elected to stay home with my children for a few years, until I was ready for something new.”

Rader got started when she sat down with her husband and set a goal to start her own business. After looking at several different opportunities, the couple found that many required a great amount of time and capital investment, that’s when they came across Mary Kay. The schedule was flexible and the initial investment was reasonable, that’s when Rader found her match.

“I have been doing direct sales for Mary Kay Cosmetics for over 26 years, that’s something I’m really proud to share. I love what I do and I love helping women. The first Mary Kay function I went to, I met so many successful women who demonstrated a strong self confidence, work ethic and were very personable. I knew instantly that’s what I wanted to be a part of,” explains Rader.

To date, more than 7,300 Mary Kay independent sales force members have qualified for career cars, with more than 1,400 of those being pink Cadillacs. Since the program’s inception in 1969, more than 120,000 independent sales force members have either qualified or re-qualified to earn the use of a Mary Kay career car.
