Serendipitous research the topic of Jan. 18 genealogical meeting

Ohio Genealogical Society trustee Margaret Cheney will be the featured guest speaker at an event on Wednesday, Jan. 18, at Westlake Porter Public Library. Cheney’s official duty will be to install the newly elected slate of officers of the local Cuyahoga West Chapter: Jim Denham, president; Deborah Basiewicz, vice president and program chair; Jane Carlson, recording secretary; Nancy Shaw, corresponding secretary; and John Noble, treasurer. 

Following the installation, Mrs. Cheney will present “Serendipity in Genealogy Research” that should be informative and entertaining. Program begins at 7 p.m. Refreshments and social time is from 6:30-7 p.m. The public is invited, at no charge.
