ADULT DEPARTMENT

Wednesday, Jan. 11 (7 p.m.) 40 TIPS FOR A SUCCESSFUL JOB SEARCH – Looking for a job or a change in careers? Join us as a Cuyahoga County Public Library Career Counselor gives tips on how to be more successful at finding the job you want.  

Tuesday, Jan. 17 (7 p.m.) LAUGH YOUR STRESS AWAY – The “Laugh Doc” returns to the library by popular demand to show how to relieve the stress of everyday life and start the new year by laughing. Be prepared to participate in this active program!

Tuesday, Jan. 31 (7 p.m.) NOTABLE BOOKS FOR ADULTS 2012 – Returning by popular demand, Bill Kelly from the ALA Notable Books Council and Manager of Cuyahoga County Public Library Beachwood Branch presents the list of books chosen for 2012 in addition to the process involved and how new books are chosen.

TEEN DEPARTMENT

Wednesday, Jan. 11 (3:30-4:30 p.m.) CLUB OTAKU – For ages 11 and up. Do you love manga, anime, and video games?  Then this club is for you! Watch anime, discuss your favorite manga books, and make a creative project or two.  

Monday, Jan. 30 (7 p.m.) GIRLS IN BAY BOOK DISCUSSION – For girls in grades 5-7. Girls, bring an adult female friend for some fun. We’ll discuss a great book, share a snack and do a related project. Copies of the books are available for check out at the Information Desk.

CHILDREN’S DEPARTMENT

Monday, Jan. 16 (2 p.m.) HEARTBEAT AFRIKA CELEBRATES MLK! – For ages 4 and up. Celebrate the life of Martin Luther King Jr. through the arts. Join Heartbeat Afrika for a musical adventure that includes storytelling, percussion and song. Afterward, make your own drum!

Thursday, Jan. 19 (7 p.m.) IT’S A GIRL’S WORLD – For girls in grades 3 and 4. Bring an adult friend for some fun! We’ll discuss a book, share a snack and try a related project.

Monday, Jan. 23 (11 a.m.-noon OR 2-3 p.m.) AMELIA BEDELIA DAY – For ages 4-8. Looking for something to do on your day off? Meet Amelia Bedelia and help her tell a story. Aterward, have fun with related games and a craft. Dress in your favorite Amelia Bedelia costume.  

Thursday, Jan. 26 (3:30 p.m.) JUNIOR ENGINEERING CLUB – For ages 8-12. Bring your ideas and imagination! Get together with other students and have fun creating all kinds of structures.
