Lincoln Portrait

Local historian and speaker, Mel Maurer, who often portrays Abraham Lincoln, was honored to receive a portrait of Lincoln this month from Westlake resident and friend, Dave Walter.

The portrait was painted some years ago as a gift to Dave by his wife, Lu Walter, who died two years ago. Lu was a noted multi media artist and is remembered for the beauty of her life and her work.

“Lu’s wonderful talent and love are expressed so well in this picture. I’m thrilled to have received it and to display it in my home where it inspires me in many ways every day,” said a very grateful Maurer.
