Catering company opens new cafe in Bay Village

Mayor Debbie Sutherland and the owners of A Luncheon Time in Dover Commons celebrate the cafe's grand opening on July 9.

Bay Village welcomed its newest business on July 9 to the Dover Commons plaza. Jennie Kehoe, her son Zachary Meaney and his wife Mary Kate, owners of A Luncheon Time Catering, Café and Meals To Go moved into the space formerly occupied by Bamboo House and then briefly Grand Rodeo. The space had been vacant for a year and a half, according to property owner Ray Negrelli.

The family-owned and operated company has been in business for nine years, catering primarily to businesses, hospitals and medical offices throughout Greater Cleveland from their 6,000-square-foot kitchen in a warehouse off Canterbury Road in Westlake.

Several years ago, the family decided it was time for a change, and began searching for a new location that would allow them to add a storefront cafe and carry-out menu to their catering business.

“We just love the town of Bay Village,” said Kehoe, who resides in Broadview Heights. “It’s a family-oriented place and we thought it would be a great place to be.”

Their new location, similar in size to their warehouse kitchen, features a bright and airy storefront cafe with seating for 30 and a covered patio with five tables. The family spent more than five months renovating the space.

A Luncheon Time’s cafe and take-and-bake menu will feature daily and monthly specials. Entrees in the self-serve cooler on the eatery’s opening day included balsamic chicken with rice pilaf, lemon-artichoke chicken and spaghetti with meatballs and marinara. Meals are portioned for two servings and priced at $10.99. Tried-and-true side dishes like au gratin potatoes, mixed vegetables and macaroni and cheese are $4.99, with fresh house salads priced at $10.99. Individually-portioned microwaveable meals are available for $8.99. The cafe offers sandwiches, wraps, soups and salads ranging in price from $2.59 to $8.99 for dine-in or carry-out.

“We are very excited to be in Bay Village and have already met a ton of wonderful people who have stopped by to see what was going on during our renovation,” said Zachary Meaney. “It is our sincerest hope that we can join the many successful businesses in the area and quickly become a staple of the community.”
