Steve Presley running for Westlake's Ward 2 Council opening

Westlake Ward 2 Council candidate Steve Presley

Hello, my name is Steve Presley and I am asking for your vote as Westlake’s Ward 2 City Council representative. I have chosen to run for election for several reasons. Foremost is because I care about Westlake, about the residents and the direction of the City that I’ve resided in for over 35 years. I want to ensure that it remains a place where my children want to raise their families.

Secondly is to represent the residents of Ward 2 in a professional, responsive manner that will reflect positively on you and the City. Lastly is to utilize the financial knowledge and experience of municipal government operations that I have obtained over the past 24 years to benefit not only Ward 2 but all residents of Westlake in future decisions made by Council.

Presently I am the City Administrator and Finance Director for the City of Pepper Pike. In this capacity I am responsible for the overall daily operations of the City in addition to those of the Finance department. Prior to joining Pepper Pike I served as the Finance Director / Tax Administrator for the City of Bay Village for nearly twenty years, and the Assistant Finance Director of the City of Lakewood for 3 years.

Currently I also serve as the Fiscal Officer for the Westshore Council of Governments, as a Member of the Westlake Civil Service Commission and a Board Member of the Regional Income Tax Agency. I have served on the Westlake Charter Review Commission and the Rocky River Wastewater Treatment Plant Advisory Board.

I am a Certified Public Accountant and a graduate of John Carroll University and St. Ignatius. I respectfully ask for your vote on May 7 and, if elected, promise that as your Ward 2 Council representative I will serve you with honor and respect.

– Steve Presley
