WHS senior scores perfect 36 on ACT

Krish Shah

Westlake High School senior Krish Shah scored a perfect 36 on the ACT test given last spring. Fewer than 1/10th of one percent of the average 1.6 million students who take the ACT annually earn a top score of 36. This is the eighth time in five years a WHS student has earned a perfect score on the test.

Krish is a National Merit Semifinalist and was part of the Westlake Demons boys tennis team that swept the Southwestern Conference Tournament last spring. The team earned the title of Tournament Champions and Krish won his third singles title.

As a sophomore, Krish won the Omnitek Best Sensors/Medical IT Gold Award through the Case Western Reserve University Diamond Lab in the Department of Chemical Engineering. He was a 2012 first-place winner in the Northeastern Ohio Science & Engineering Fair in the chemistry category. He also won first place in the special awards category for his project that demonstrated electrochemical detection of nitric oxide using a diamond electrode.

Krish plans to study pre-medicine and work toward receiving both an MD and an MBA at a yet-to-be-determined college or university.
