Bay Village DAR helps veterans celebrate Vietnam Veterans Memorial Day

March 29 is designated as the official day of remembrance and celebration for all veterans who served in Vietnam. It’s a day of thankfulness for those who returned home and those who paid the ultimate sacrifice.

Martha Devotion Huntington Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution has furnished Easter and Christmas dinners for three years to the current residents of the Fulton House. This house is a haven for homeless veterans that furnishes not only a shelter but outpatient health services, counseling and Bible studies to 13 men, and seven more in a smaller home adjacent to Fulton House.

The primary goal of this establishment is to prepare these men for placement in the community with apartments and jobs, as well as emphasizing volunteer service on their part.

Martha Devotion Huntington Chapter has been privileged to provide meals at the holidays, but also does fundraising and collection of much needed items for the house, as well as apartments when the men are outsourced to the community.
