Porter Library hosts "Buckeye Reflections" book discussion and signing

Maureen Zappala and Jack Park will share the "human" side of Ohio State football on April 18 at Porter Library.

OSU fans will want to stop by Westlake Porter Public Library on Wednesday, April 18, at 7 p.m. to meet the authors of "Buckeye Reflections: Legendary Moments from Ohio State Football," the first book of its kind, showcasing the “human” side of the Scarlet and Gray.

Hear unique stories about the players, coaches, fans, sportscasters and a myriad of others connected to the The Ohio State gridiron. Each chapter highlights a coaching era, including John Wilce, Paul Brown, Woody Hayes and Jim Tressel. The book is filled with poignant perspectives, joyful celebrations and heartwarming experiences from behind the stats and features beautiful pictures and illustrations that bring it all to life. Be inspired with how people overcame impossible odds and obstacles, but most of all, be proud to be a Buckeye fan, part of a remarkable and robust football culture.

Together, co-authors Jack Park and Maureen Zappala are an uncanny partnership based on mutual love of public speaking and college football. Jack is an OSU grad, an Ohio State football radio commentator for Sports Radio 97.1 The Fan in Columbus, and speaks to OSU alumni clubs across the country. Maureen is Notre Dame grad, award-winning speaker and author, and the founder of High Altitude Strategies, a speaking and coaching organization.

Copies of the book will be available for purchase. For more information or to register, please call 440-871-2600 or click on our Event Calendar at www.westlakelibrary.org.
