Meet your friends at the Westlake Kiwanis pancake breakfast and race

The Westlake Kiwanis will hold their spring pancake breakfast on Sunday, April 7. The breakfast will take place from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Westlake High School cafeteria, 27830 Hilliard Blvd. The breakfast is being held in conjunction with the Hermes Westlake Spring Fever run to benefit LakeShore Day Camp, Westlake Kiwanis.

Breakfast includes all the pancakes you can eat! Plus sausage, orange juice, milk, coffee and tea. Tickets are $6. Children 6 and under eat for free.. The Westlake Kiwanis will be donating funds toward projects benefiting children throughout the Westlake community such as holiday food baskets for the disadvantaged, student scholarships, the Westlake High School Key Club, Builders Club and Aktion Club.

The Westlake Spring Fever is a 2-mile or 4-mile run kicking off at 9 a.m. from Westlake High. Race registration is $25 in advance. Discounted tickets for the pancake breakfast of $5 are available to race registrants. To sign up, visit hermescleveland.com.

I am a member of the Westlake Kiwanis and and advisor for the Westlake Kiwanis Aktion Club. The Aktion Club is sponsored by the Kiwanis the same as a Key, Builders and Circle K Clubs. Aktion Club is for adults with disabilities 18 years of age and up. The new President of the Westlake Kiwanis asked me handle publicity for the Kiwanis and Aktion Clubs.I am a retired Manager of Expenditures for the CSX Corp. I moved to Cleveland's exteme Westside 10 years ago from Freeport, PA a town about 30 miles northeast east of Pittsburgh where I had lived all my life. Work related issues brought my family to Cleveland.
