New STEAM Lab coming to St. Paul Westlake in fall 2019

St. Paul Lutheran School is proud to announce the development of a dedicated STEAM Lab, beginning with the start of the 2019-2020 school year in August.

“Our lab will be a place where students are encouraged to engage, explore, and be inspired,” said Principal Jeremy Louden.

“STEAM” is an educational approach that focuses on 21st century skills in the disciplines of Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Mathematics.

Students are taught through guided inquiry, dialogue, peer collaboration, experimentation, and critical thinking,” Louden said. “We are laying the foundation for the skills that will be needed in the future for jobs that may not yet exist today. Jobs and careers are becoming more social in nature. This lab is going to support our efforts in helping students grow and prepare. We want to give them every opportunity to excel and be successful.”

Work on the new STEAM Lab will be completed while St. Paul Westlake students are on summer break.
