'Cahoon in June' celebrates 50 years

Event is part of 'Destination Bay' on June 15

The 50th annual “Cahoon in June” fine crafts, antiques and collectibles show takes place on Saturday, June 15, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., in Cahoon Memorial Park.

Once again, the event is part of “Destination Bay,” a day of activities around Bay Village. BAYarts' annual Art & Music Festival is 10 a.m.-4 p.m. The Village Project's Project Pedal fundraiser is 8:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Lake Erie Nature & Science Center is featuring free planetarium programs and tours from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Village Bicycle Cooperative will be open from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Transportation runs between venues.

In addition to many crafts and antiques vendors, Cahoon in June will feature a display of antique cars and boats, and live musical entertainment by the band OMF from noon to 2 p.m. A free five-mile history walk will leave from Cahoon Park at 10 a.m. and return at 11:30 a.m. Food concessions include Carhops Mobile Diner, Island Delights, Dolci d’Italia, Pap’s Kettle Korn and Nothing Bundt Cakes. Rose Hill Museum, the Osborn Learning Center and the Cahoon Cabin will be open. Admission is free.

Community groups are invited to participate with a table for their organization free of charge. Potential vendors can call Cynthia Eakin at 216-213-0312. Proceeds from Cahoon in June support Rose Hill Museum, the Osborn Learning Center and the society’s student scholarships.
