League of Women Voters celebrates centennial of women's suffrage

  • Headquarters of the Cleveland Woman Suffrage Party. A constitutional amendment for woman suffrage in Ohio was defeated in 1912.

  • Cleveland's prize winning float at the 1912 parade in Columbus was based on a popular allegorical sculpture by Canadian Ella Buchanan.

  • The 1914 Cleveland suffrage parade attracted 10,000 marchers in support of another Ohio constitutional amendment for woman suffrage. The amendment was defeated.
