Meals on Wheels hosting Night At the Races

Meals on Wheels invites the community to a Night at the Races on Saturday, Oct. 29, at Wagner’s of Westlake. The event is a first for Meals on Wheels and will raise money to support its mission of providing meals to the homebound in the five communities of Bay Village, North Olmsted, Olmsted Falls, Olmsted Township, and Westlake.

The evening will feature horse racing, sideboards, and a wide array of silent auction baskets. Doors open at 6 p.m., and the event will end at 11 p.m. All community members are invited to attend and enjoy an evening with friends and family and support a great cause. Attendees are invited to wear Derby attire or Halloween costumes, and prizes will be awarded for the best costume!

Marie Patten-Blatter, Executive Director, is excited to welcome the community to the event. “This is a wonderful opportunity to gather with supporters, volunteers, and others who recognize the impact Meals on Wheels has on its recipients and their family members. We are passionate about those we serve and want to celebrate with all who help in our mission.”

Meals on Wheels depends upon the financial support of the community and local businesses, as well as volunteers to deliver vital nutrition and a mid-day safety check Monday through Friday.

Tickets are $40 and include heavy appetizers and desserts. To purchase tickets, visit westlakemealsonwheels.org/upcoming-events.php. To donate to the Silent Auction or for more information, please call 440-871-2551. See you at the races!
