Westlake teachers join Kiwanis for RePlay for Kids project
The Westlake Kiwanis held a RePlay for Kids project on Tuesday, March 28, at Westlake Porter Public Library. Kiwanis and teachers from the Westlake Elementary School worked together adapting toys. There is nothing that makes a person smile more than making life better for a child with a disability.
They adapted the toys so they can be used by children with disabilities. It involves taking the toys apart and installing switches which can be used to make the toys operate in various ways, such as blowing into a tube or touching with the side of a head. They managed to complete 25 various types of trucks. Leading the group were Kendal Duncan and Amy Davarpanah from RePlay for Kids.

Aktion Club is for adults with disabilities 18 years of age and up. The new President of the Westlake Kiwanis asked me handle publicity for the Kiwanis and Aktion Clubs.I am a retired Manager of Expenditures for the CSX Corp. I moved to Cleveland's exteme Westside 10 years ago from Freeport, PA a town about 30 miles northeast east of Pittsburgh where I had lived all my life. Work related issues brought my family to Cleveland.
