Porter levy plans for the future

What will libraries be like in the future? I hope they will be a lot like what we have right here, right now, at the Westlake Porter Public Library.

Our library has a large, high quality collection of books and other materials. It has creative spaces for children and teens to learn and grow, and places for quiet study or noisy activity. It has the latest technology, and many opportunities for meetings large and small. Our library is a great place to connect with your family, with your friends and neighbors, or your community organization.

Looking for a way to unplug from technology for a little while? Check out one of the thousands of great books that can entertain or challenge you.

Through sound fiscal management, the library has held the line on costs while continually improving services. If this 2.8 mill levy is renewed, the library will be operating on the same funds for the next five years that it has for the last 10 years. Not many services cost the same amount for 15 years!

For all these reasons and more, please join me in voting yes on May 8 for Issue 6, the Westlake Porter Public Library Levy renewal.

Westlake resident and former Westlake Porter Public Library trustee
